Camp Rock came out in 2008 as a vehicle to launch the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato into teen pop music stardom with Disney and Disney Channel.

While this first film kicked off a franchise that continues to this day, the first movie was a low budget attempt at mixing together tropes from other movies about summer camp and performing arts.
