When Oprah and Gayle went back to colonial times in a 2004 episode of the Oprah Winfrey Show, it was to promote a new PBS show called Colonial House- and they hated it as much as you would expect.
The two hosts seems like they really hated living in colonial times, and I have to say I would probably agree with them. So let's join Oprah and Gayle King in the 1600's to eat some rotten food , go the bathroom, outside, and sleep on the ground.
